Fox's Hope - IHN
is a 3d pixelated single player story game.
The game is a semi open world
We play as a fox spirit who guides a lost child through the snowy mountains. The fox has 9 tails, representing the amount of times it can use its abilities.
32 Bit Winter Jam 2025
Time to bring back the late 90s... with a holiday twist!
The theme for this jam is a haiku:
'twas the last resort.
Sacrifice was required.
Fireworks in snow.

How it started
Zay a friend i made while we are working on WhisperWood, came to me asking if i wanted to take part in a game jam.
After showing this Jam and its theme i was instently hooks.. for all the wrong reason. my first time reading it had me believing that, the theme was to make a game about a haiku. Not the haiku presented but one you made.
So I mistakenly make a haiku about a fox. But that helped create the idea we have now.

Design Choices
To maintain that 32-bit 90's feel, we decided to pixelate the game. The easiest choice for that was to use a texture image displayed through the Unity camera and lowering its resolution, which works a treat and allows us to create simpler models to reduce strain, given the short 3-week timescale.
Every good game deserves cover art, so I tried my hand at a mock-up design of an old-school box art. Granted, I had to use royalty-free assets of a child and a fox for this mock-up, but I feel it came out rather well. It could also be used as the main menu screen, but that's a decision for later.
